Airbnb Pet Cleaning Fee

Not sure why so many people travel with pets.

Meagan and michael0 yes that would be the easiest option but since airbnb doesnt have this option yet a good work around is to state in your listing you have a pet fee of x which will be requested via the resolution center prior to their arrival and must be accepted. I talked to a csr at airbnb and was told airbnb isn t set up to charge a pet fee. She explained that i can submit to the guest a special offer when they submit a booking request if we choose to host them increasing the total cost of the stay by the amount of the pet fees. After realizing it s easier to get a guest to accept a refund via change reservation than it is to request extra money i build my pet fee into the cleaning fee and simply change the reservation to 25 less if a guest is not bringing a pet.

Since we require the pets to be crated when their humans are not in the home we are prepared to charge a crate fee of 10 but so far we ve convinced everyone we re not pet sitters so they take them with on their adventures. Seems like it would be a lot easier if there was a pet fee spot next to the number of guests or just as there is a cleaning fee added or not. Im new to this and i was curious about the requesting money. Discriminating against service dogs and their handlers is not right.
